Efekto vs Arcads: AI UGC Video Ads vs an App That Runs Your Facebook Ads

Arcads makes UGC-style videos with AI actors. Efekto creates, publishes and optimizes Facebook ads every day. Which one a local service business needs, and when.

Efekto vs Arcads: AI UGC Video Ads vs an App That Runs Your Facebook Ads

Choose Arcads if someone already runs your Facebook ads and what you're short on is talking-head videos to test. Choose Efekto if you're a local service business and nobody runs the ad account, because a video file on its own doesn't book a job. Arcads, based on its public website, generates UGC-style video ads with AI actors. Efekto creates ads from your website, publishes them, and optimizes them every day: it turns off the ones that don't bring results and scales the ones that do. The two tools solve different problems. If you buy the one that fixes the problem you don't have, you can lose a month of budget with nothing to show for it.

We build Efekto, so we have a stake in this comparison. The same team runs Lemon Agency, which has worked with over 300 clients. Keep that in mind when you read the table, and check every Arcads detail on their own site.

What is the difference between Arcads and Efekto?

Arcads gives you a video. Efekto gives you a running campaign.

If you run a roofing, HVAC or detailing business, look at rows four and five first. Those two rows decide whether money spent on ads turns into calls.

When does Arcads make sense for a local service business?

Arcads makes sense when your ad account is already in good hands and you can't produce new videos fast enough. Three situations fit:

  • Your agency or freelancer asks for fresh video every two to three weeks because results drop off as people get tired of the same ad. That drop is ad fatigue.
  • You can't or won't film yourself, and you have no staff who will.
  • You want to test 10 different opening lines for the same offer, and paying a real creator for 10 takes isn't realistic.

It makes much less sense when trust is what you're selling. A med spa, a dentist or a roofer is asking someone to let a stranger near their face or onto their roof. A face that has nothing to do with your business works against that. Our position is simple: never script an AI actor as a customer. A line like "They redid my roof in two days", spoken by someone who was never your customer, is a fake testimonial. The FTC rule on consumer reviews and testimonials, finalized in 2024, covers testimonials from people who don't exist, including AI-generated ones. You can use an AI actor as a presenter who explains the offer. Don't use one as a happy client.

Before you pay for an actor, we'd test a 20-second phone clip of a finished job. Phone photos and your website cover more of what a local ad needs than most owners expect.

When does an app that runs your ads make more sense?

It makes more sense when your real problem is "nobody checks the account", not "I have no video". Here is what that costs.

For example, say you spend $20 a day, which is $600 a month. At $40 per lead, that buys 15 leads. If you book 1 in 3, you get 5 jobs. Now say one of your three ads drifts to $90 per lead and nobody turns it off for a month. That ad takes about $200 of the budget and brings in about 2 leads. At $40, the same $200 would have brought in 5. You lose about 3 leads and 1 job a month to a single ad nobody checked. A better video generator doesn't fix that. Daily attention does.

Efekto handles that daily attention. It creates ads from your website, publishes them, and optimizes them every day: it turns off the ones that don't bring results and scales the ones that do. The Starter plan is $149 per month and includes 1 campaign plus 60 images and 6 videos per month. You approve the first batch, and at least 5 ads must be approved before the campaign starts. The ads run on your own Facebook ad account, or on an Efekto ad account that you top up in advance. You don't need a card to sign up. The 7-day free trial starts when your first campaign launches. The full setup is on how Efekto works.

$15 - The minimum daily ad budget Efekto will run a campaign on.

Efekto is the wrong choice in three cases. First, an agency or in-house person already runs your ads well. Second, you can't commit at least $15 a day in ad spend on top of the plan. Third, you need dozens of actor-led videos a month, which is more than the 6 on Starter. In those cases, use an Arcads-style tool or your own phone. Our Efekto vs Arcads comparison page goes through the features side by side.

How do you use AI UGC video ads without wasting the budget?

Treat an AI video as one ad in a test, not as the campaign itself. If you go the Arcads route, we'd set it up like this:

  1. Write the script around one offer and one area. For example: "Full interior detail this week in our area, one hundred eighty-nine dollars, book in the form below." Put the offer in the first 3 seconds.
  2. Spell every number out in the script. Write "one hundred eighty-nine dollars", not "$189".
  3. Watch every rendered video once before it goes live. Check the price, your business name and the service area.
  4. Put it in the same ad set as 2 other ads, such as an image and your own phone video, so you're comparing like with like.
  5. Judge it on leads, not views. Let each ad spend about 2 to 3 times your target cost per lead. Then turn off the worst one.
Running an AI video ad without wasting budget: One offer, one area, offer in first 3 seconds; Spell all numbers out in the script; Watch every video before it goes live; Test against an image and a phone video; Turn off the loser based on leads

From our accounts: An AI voiceover read "4.2M" as "four point two". Since then we spell numbers out in video scripts. For you, this matters more than it sounds. A price or a number of years in business is usually the line you most need the viewer to hear, and AI voices misread exactly those things: "$1.5k", "24/7", "5★". When the voice drops the "M" or the "k", the number comes out 1,000 times smaller, and nobody catches it unless they listen. Write "twenty-four seven" and "one thousand five hundred dollars", and check the audio before you publish.

With $20 a day and nobody running the account, we'd skip the AI actor at first. We'd film one finished job on a phone and spend the effort on checking the ads every day and calling leads back fast. If that's the setup you want without doing it by hand, you can start a campaign on Efekto.
